Famous for her London thrillers, such as Hide My Eyes and The Tiger in the Smoke, Margery Allingham has been compared to Dickens in her evocation of the city's shady underworld. Acclaimed by crime novelists such as P.D. James, Allingham is counted alongside Dorothy L. Sayers, Agatha Christie and Gladys Mitchell as a pre-eminent Golden Age crime.   Windows 10 tip How to hide files and folders on Windows 10 When you have any file or folder you want to keep away from prying eyes, use this guide to hide them using File Explorer or Command Prompt.

Friday Forgotten (or Overlooked) Book: HIDE MY EYES () by Margery Allingham Except for a rather abrupt end, this is a superb book from a writer whose work continues to surprise me. It is also the sort of book that could teach modern day writers who specialize in serial killer tomes, a thing or two or three. Margery Allingham shows her dark edge in Hide My Eyes and evokes the sights, sounds, and inimitable atmosphere of s London, once again proving herself "one of the finest 'golden age' crime novelists" (Sunday Telegraph).

This shouldn’t even have had Campion’s name associated with it. He was a completely peripheral character and did absolutely nothing to solve the mystery.4/5(6). COVID Resources. A grisly spectre of murder and greed hangs unseen over the tiny corner of London known as Garden Green. Brought in to investigate a number of apparently unconnected disappearances, Albert Campion finds himself faced with a series of ever more disparate clues: a country bus with a pair of unusual passengers parked outside a London theatre; a lizard-skin lettercase; a left Price: $   It's not often that a book about a serial killer can make you laugh out loud, but this one does.

Hide Your Eyes is like a roller coaster ride. It's scary, but it's huge fun at the same time. The heroine of the book, Samantha, is smart and funny and someone you want to spend time with long after you're done reading.5/5(5). Read "Hide My Eyes" by Margery Allingham available from Rakuten Kobo.

After trudging through this book I’m left wondering – Was it me – or was it the book. For me Allingham’s books can be quite curate’s eggish – in other words good in parts. Everyone seems to really rate this. Check out this great listen on In Hide My Eyes, Campion finds himself hunting down a serial killer.

Campion, we have noted, hardly appears. Annabelle is a delight but an insubstantial figure. Richard is a rather mundane hero. In Hide My Eyes, private detective Albert Campion finds himself hunting down a serial killer in London’s theatre-land.

A spate of murders leaves him with only two baffling clues: a left-hand glove and a lizard-skin letter-case. These minimal clues and a series of peculiar events sets Campion on a race against time that takes him from an odd museum of curiosities hidden.
